Simple DIY Installation Instructions.
Everything you need is in the box!
We’ve thought of everything to make your SpeedHeat Sink quick and easy to install:
- The SpeedHeat DIY unit is fully pre-plumbed & wired to avoid leaks AND incorrect wiring installation. Do not tamper with either of these connections.
- The Speedheat DIY comes with a 30mm attachable hand hose for use in the sink as well as a 1.5m attachable hand hose for use in an alternative basin nearby.
- A universal adapter is supplied to fit all taps or mixers with an outlet diameter of up to 23mm and a spout length of over 20mm. A snap-on/off connector for easy operation is included.
- A 5mm masonry drill bit is supplied to secure your bracket with a tight fit so that your SpeedHeat does not move.
- Your SpeedHeat DIY unit will supply hot water in a range from 1.6lts a minute to 4lts a minute. The faster the flow the cooler the water.
Find the correct position on your wall above, below, or to the side of the sink where access to your water tap & hose will be best placed. Make sure the location of the power supply that will feed your unit is close enough.
Once you have located the appropriate position, mark the wall where your brackets need to be fixed & drill the holes with the 5mm drill bit provided. Screw the bracket to the wall & tighten it around the SpeedHeat unit.
Connect the hose from the side of the SpeedHeat to your cold water supply (a universal adapter is supplied if you do not have a screw thread on your tap).
Connect your hand hose to the outlet positioned directly below the SpeedHeat unit.
SpeedHeat SINK FAQ’s.
Do I need water & electricity already installed in my house?
Yes, SpeedHeat needs plumbed water and power for it to work.
Will it fit any tap?
No, SpeedHeat needs the spout length to be long enough for it to attach to. Refer to the suggested taps & mixers above.
Can I use the SpeedHeat Sink in a bathroom?
No, the DIY sink option is designed for use in a kitchen or laundry as it needs electricity.
Will my SpeedHeat give me the same amount of hot water as a geyser?
A geyser will provide approx. 8-10 litres of hot water per minute. SpeedHeat will give you approx. 3 litres of hot water per minute. This means the optimal flow of hot water is about a third of the speed of a geyser.
How quickly does it take for the water to heat up?
SpeedHeat gives you almost instant hot water. Unlike a geyser that takes time to heat up when switched off, SpeedHeat uses an element in the shower head that only switches on when the tap is opened – saving you time and money.
Will the heat change in Winter?
Yes, if the incoming temperature is colder then it will affect the heat. SpeedHeat can only increase the starting temperature by 25 – 30 degrees Celsius. This means that in Winter, the heat can decrease up to 15 degrees.
Does the speed of the water flow impact the temperature?
Yes, the slower the water comes out of your SpeedHeat, the hotter your water will be.
