SpeedHeat Shower FAQ’s.
Will my SpeedHeat give me the same amount of hot water as a geyser?
A geyser will provide approx. 8-10 litres of hot water per minute. SpeedHeat will give you approx. 3 litres of hot water per minute. This means the optimal flow of hot water is about a third of the speed of a geyser.
How quickly does it take for the water to heat up?
SpeedHeat gives you almost instant hot water. Unlike a geyser that takes time to heat up when switched off, SpeedHeat uses an element in the shower head that only switches on when the tap is opened – saving you time and money.
Will the heat change in Winter?
Yes, if the incoming temperature is colder then it will affect the heat. SpeedHeat can only increase the starting temperature by 25 – 30 degrees celsius. This means that in Winter, the heat can decrease up to 15 degrees.
Does the speed of the water flow impact the temperature?
Yes, the slower the water comes out of your SpeedHeat, the hotter your water will be.
Is the temperature the same in both the 3.5kW and 5kW?
Yes, the maximum temperature is the same but the flow will be faster in the 5kW.
How safe is my SpeedHeat?
It has built-in safety procedures and is also manufactured using fire retardant materials so it will melt and not burn.
Can I use my SpeedHeat to fill my bath?
No, it will take too long to fill a bath and the temperature will drop too quickly.
Can I plumb the SpeedHeat inline?
No, It is not an inline heating system and is only suitable for end-of-the-line installation.
